Mythological Goddess Pele.
In modern times she is the
most recognized and
respected of all the Hawaiian
Gods. According to legend,
Pele is known as the Volcano
Goddess who shaped our sacred land with her rivers of fiery |

lava. She is known to appear as a beautiful woman who is strong, gentle and loving of the land and all who live on her. But if she is angered, she is said to be very passionate, unpredictable and capable of great destruction.
Even today, people who live in the Hawaiian Islands believe in her mythological legend. People still pay their respects to her at her present home on the Big Island of Hawaii. She is said to reside in Kilauea Crater on Mauna Kea, the earth's tallest mountain when measured from her base at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean. Currently she is still active in expanding the size of the Big Island of Hawaii with her volcanic eruptions.
Pele has allowed the coffee farmers of the Hawaiian Islands to use her rich volcanic soil. With this special soil they grow some of the finest coffees in the world, Hawaiian Coffees. At
HAWAII'S OWN COFFEE CO., we believe in keeping traditional beliefs of the mythological goddess alive. We hope you enjoy what she has given to us, so we may give it back to you. From our Ohana (family) to yours,
